Pretending We're From Wisconsin: Part I -- Door County.

On Friday Scott finished his ridiculously long and intense week of tests. You can imagine how pleased I was to have my husband back :)
Our good friends the Jackmans invited us to stay at a cabin in Door County. Door County in the Fall? How very Wisconsin-ite.

Essential road trip picture (Scott would argue about how essential it is...)

Water! (Lake Michigan)

These are the Jackmans, Melanie and Ryan. We like them quite a lot.

I was thrilled to find lichen. Scott thought my excitement over some moss was a little excessive and thus decided to document it. I, however, did not care because I was so pleased at knowing that the air in Door Co. is pure enough for lichen to grow.

The "cabin" we stayed at was actually a log house. It was phenomenal. It was in the middle of a forest and absolutely perfect. Scott and I were expecting a teeny tiny cabin with a wood-burning stove. Instead we found a summer house complete with satellite tv, a pool table, ping pong table, darts, mini golf, star wars lego galore (which of course Scott needed to document for Coleman), an Xbox, AND arcade games.

We ate ice cream in Sister Bay. It was delicious! this is Scott's face of approval.

Scott tried to trade me out for this hot mama. Don't worry, I didn't let him.

We love Fall in Wisconsin. Please visit.

A cool story. Because I tell such good stories.

Just because I'm in culinary school doesn't mean I can cook.
These were supposed to be brownies for Scott's Psychiatric potluck. They were supposed to be easy. I come home from school, make the mix, throw it in the oven, pull it out, let them cool, put them on a plate and bring them to Scott before running off to work.
Somehow our oven turned against us.
I put it in at the right temperature and checked it ten minutes before it was supposed to be done.
When I checked it, I found this. They were practically petrified. Not a single brownie could be saved.

[A whole pan of brownies was harmed in the making of this post]

Update

Here is what we are up to lately:
Scott is shaping up to be one fine doctor. Not too hard on the eyes either if I do say so myself. This was one of those Saturday's where he gives up sleeping in to offer his medical services to underprivileged inner-city folk.

Scott's favorite things:
-Studying, studying, and more studying.
-Ben and Jerry's ice cream (apparently he hadn't had it before... boy did we fix that)
-Doing the dishes when he gets the chance (be jealous.)
-waking up super early to work out.

What Sarah is up to:
-School. Basically I go to class and do sodoku. And then I proceed to ace my tests.
-Work. I am working for an ebay company (Allthingsboughtandsold... look us up). I pick my hours and I love it.
-Trying to convince Scott to take a couple minutes to hang out with me each day. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm pretty sure he still has a crush on me, though.
