Little Mama

Jane has been a really picky eater lately. In fact for a while she would only drink milk and water (pretty much all she gets anyway) eat rolls, bananas, yogurt, and dry frosted mini wheats. I'm sure those tiny bits of frosted hay really felt good on her teething gums...? Weird kid. Sure love her, though.

I can't keep up with her Kings Hawaiian Rolls addiction. I feel like I'm constantly buying them and we are constantly running out. Then we never leave the grocery store with the bag in tact. These ones she pulled off the table and helped herself to, she was pretty darn proud of herself.

Eating a banana with Daddy. Every other bite she shared with her "Zee-bwa".

Our little mama continues to baby everyone/everything. She found a binky when I was sorting through drawers (I'm nesting like nobody's business) and went from stuffed animal to stuffed animal seeing if one of them would take it.

In the end she realized the only one it fit was her.

Jane really likes electronics. We keep trying to take videos of her and all she will do is chase the ipad.

This morning when I got Jane out of her crib I was wearing a towel (I had just come out of the shower). Jane was shocked to realize that under the towel I was naked. She promptly brought me a bra (because apparently my pregnancy breasts can't even sneak past my one-year-old), Scott's exercise shirt, and a pair of Scott's basketball pants. Then she topped it off by bringing me his socks. I was really impressed she was able to cover all of the major bases for clothes (even if they weren't mine). What a mama. Taking care of her Mama.

Weekly Goodies

I made cookies for Lunch Bunch last week and left them unattended while they were cooling. I pushed them to the back of the table knowing that they would be out of Janie's reach. A couple of minutes later I came back into the kitchen and found this:

Yes. Apparently little Janie decided that if ever there was a time to learn how to climb a chair, now was it. She scaled the giant chair and was helping herself to cookies. She was so cute and determined I let her have at it. (for those who ate the cookies: don't worry, I kept track of which ones had been sampled and kept those for our family).

This little girl loves chocolate and peanut butter, so she couldn't go wrong with no-bakes. In fact the next day when I had secretly packaged them all up she clearly pointed right to their container and said, "Cookie?" A. I didn't know she knew where I stored them and B. She has never said the word cookie, before! She sure knows how to get what she wants.

Since it's so cold outside we wear mittens a lot. Jane was so excited when she discovered my giant mitten.

Every day (all day) we play peek-a-boo in the curtains. I can't get over how cute she is with her little legs sticking out laughing hysterically because Mom "doesn't know" where she is. I seriously need to video it sometime.

Jane climbs everything.

We are selling our perfect rocking chair and I'm really sad about it. We spent forever sanding, priming, sealing, re-finishing/re-upholstering it, but in the end I really didn't make a lot of use out of it. It's gorgeous but it's taking up space that we need for a toddler bed.

Jane is obsessed with everyone else's strollers so I decided I ought to suck it up and buy her one of her own. She LOVES it. Every day she carefully selects "treasures" and pushes them all over the house. The other day her treasures were my hairbrush, a partially eaten banana, some finger puppets, and our egg timer. Hey, whatever works.

The only real way to watch princess movies is in your princess chair.

I walked in on this scene yesterday:

Scott is the sweetest Daddy. Jane and I are just in love with him.

Speaking of love, enjoy this extreme close up of our faces.

which led to making out (which of course, I documented-- don't you love me?)

and kissing, folks leads to babies.

Speaking of babies: Baby #2 is growing rapidly. I feel like a boat. The baby has started wiggling and it's a pretty awesome feeling. Scott was actually able to feel them the other day, which was pretty cool.

Like I said, Jane is obsessed with her Dad. There was one day last week where she didn't get to see him because he was on call and she has been desperate for his attention ever since. You would think she hadn't seem him in years the way she is trying to make up for lost time. This morning she was so proud of herself for waking up extra early and catching Dad before he leaves for work. She literally had this giant grin plastered on her face the entire time.

Random notes:
I'm actually gaining weight at an appropriate rate this pregnancy! It's strange. Instead of feeling healthy I feel like a boat. Anyhow, I've gained a whopping 3-4lbs at 16 weeks.

I crave vanilla ice cream with hersheys syrup, sour gummy worms, and popcorn/applesauce/water (combo) most of the time. I also require Coke Zero to survive.

I've had almost non-stop migraines (especially the last two weeks), which has been pretty terrible. We watch a lot of TV (which I was hoping to kick when I was off bed rest) but we do it because I can keep the volume low, the lights off, and I can keep my eyes shut while Jane is happy watching Tangled.

Jane had her 15month appointment when she was 15.5 months. She is 31" tall (62nd percentile-- 3" in 3 months!), 19lbs 4 oz (4th percentile), and has a head circumference of 18.5" (77th percentile). All of her clothes fall off because she needs the bigger size for the length but her waist is teeny. Hence she wears skirts all of the time.

Surviving Winter

Winter is in full force here in Wisconsin. February is typically our big "Snow Dump" month and this year is no exception.
Jane, of course, is facing the winter with nothing but style. She wears these sunglasses everywhere and thinks the are awesome.

After the big winter storm a few days ago:

Of course we had to go play in it! Scott had been bugging me to take Jane out in it for a while and I decided since it was finally a whopping 35 I was willing to subject Jane to the outdoors.
Sorry we don't have any active pictures of us playing in the snow, it was still coming down rapidly and I didn't want to ruin my camera. Jane mostly spent her time standing in the snow smiling. She tried to move and kept ending up in a snow covered heap yelling "Hep! Hep! Mama!" Which was, of course, hilarious. But she was just so happy to be outside she didn't even care. She even made her first snow man (note the icicle mohawk):
 photo BDSC_0120_zpsdd0aefbd.jpg
We also noticed that we were the only ones home so of course we felt the need to make it impossible for anyone else to park. It's hard to see here but we fashioned a giant Snow Snake across every other parking spot. Our neighbor, Ruthless Nic (as he shall henceforth be called), decided Snow Snake was actually Challenging Speedbump and mauled it the first chance he had... Good thing he's so nice normally ;)

Dreaming of Spring (and having found an awesome deal) I finally purchased our first piece of new baby gear. A double stroller! Well actually a converting double stroller. Since I baby wear I thought it would be nice to have the option of having a double or not so we purchased a Phil & Teds and so far we really like it. I will miss my Bumbleride Rocket terribly, but it is moving on to another great family downstairs.

Jane is a little obsessed with her new stroller. I left it set up for two days and she just wanted to sit in it all of the time. This is what happens when you spend any sunny day going on walks of extraordinary length... Jane has infinite stroller love. It is the greatest.
 photo BDSC_0135_zps514d51f1.jpg
I caught Jane big-sistering her "woof woof". She saw he was still strapped into the stroller (to demonstrate it was a double) and she brought over a sippy and started trying to push him around the house. Also note Jane's obsession with all things citrus. She now has two lime juice containers she has nabbed from the kitchen which she tries to drink out of. A girl after my own heart. We like to tell strangers they are her "play grenades". Because every kid needs pretend grenades... right? Mostly we like the horrified reactions.
 photo BDSC_0138-1_zps41f1eb58.jpg
Jane also is pretty excited that she has conquered the couch. She knows if she pushes her play table next to the couch she can climb on top (so dangerous) and get onto the couch. She spends way too much time just sitting on the couch and giggling. It cracks us up.

On Friday Jane had the best day of her life. She kicked it off with her buddy Avery playing most of the day, then Eric and Kenzie came over, then Sadie came and they ran around until well after Jane's bed time. She slept so well that night. Jane is a complete social butterfly and was in heaven.

Eric was just too cute not to include.

I wish I had a picture but Jane has started talking a lot more (hallelujah). One of her favorite discoveries is the words "up" and "bup". "Up" means pick me up (of course) but "bup" means pick me up and wrap me in a blanket, I want to snuggle. We have been "bup"-ing a lot lately. I can't resist when she brings her zebra in one arm and is using all of her tiny strength to lug a blanket in the other arm and then finds me and says "bup?". I typically drop everything and we watch a movie together. I'm trying to absorb as many snuggles as I can before she grows up and decides snuggling is no fun.

Baby update coming soon. I am 15 weeks this week, have a definite bump, and am going to the doctors this afternoon, I will try to upload a picture soon!
