Jane + Bacon = Forever

Once upon a time Jane climbed onto the giant table to snag a piece of bacon.
Photobucket
She loved it.
Photobucket
She actually got down from the table and tottered all over the house dancing until she ran out of bacon. The only thing is... Jane didn't walk before bacon. Now she full on dances?

Bacon is magic.

Utah for Thanksgiving

I'm probably the worst at taking pictures when I'm with people I love. I usually just want to enjoy them and forget to take pictures. Well, I either forget my camera or it ends up needing to be in a diaper bag with a bottle full of milk which seems dangerous. Anyhow...
My sister, Katie, had her twin boys November 5, so for Thanksgiving, my other sister, Crystal, me/Jane, and my Dad all flew out to see her little family.
My Dad and Jason worked on the turkey

I made sweet potato souffle, chocolate ribbon pie, homemade creamed corn, and banana punch (a Heintz tradition). Dad made the turkey, mashed potatoes, and gravy. Jason made rolls (which were amazing). Katie made pumpkin cheesecake.

I got to meet little Bennett who was at home with his parents. Poor Cooper was stuck in the NICU until yesterday. They were adorable and soo tiny! My Dad and I went on adventures all over Provo/Orem trying to hunt down preemie clothes for them.

Imy and Dad handed out Christmas Pjs. Jane is completely in love with her "learning turtle".
Photobucket
Jane found her yogurt melts and thought that dumping all of the dust and yogurt melt crumbs on my bed was a good idea.
Photobucket
(sorry for the coloring, my camera was on the wrong setting) I got to meet sweet baby Sara! I was so excited that Corinne and her family came down from Rexburg to see us! I have been dying to hold this sweet little girl since she was born in June. Jane was infatuated with her. I would be holding JAne and she would wiggle out of my arms so she could totter over to Sara and play. They are clearly going to be best friends.

Aunt Crystal gave JAne her first haircut. I know it was time, but every time I do her hair I feel nostalgic for her long curls.
Photobucket
I was able to visit Cooper in the NICU a couple of times. Now he is home and is doing great with his brother and parents.

Jane had to sit in the waiting room, poor girl.

These are all of the pictures I have, more were taken, they just are on other cameras, so hopefully I can get a hold of them and post them later.

***Crystal, Dad, and Corinne, can you help me out with this?

Puzzle Soup

Jane was fussing while I cooked dinner last night, so I pulled out an extra bowl and spoon for her to play with on the floor. She quickly started pretending to stir her "dinner", and then noticing that I had multiple pots going, crawled over to my crock pot (which was on the floor waiting to be put away) and threw all of her puzzle pieces inside as ingredients. It was completely adorable. Those little ones... they watch us.

Happy Birthdayween, Jane!

I can't believe it's been a year since this sweet little girl shot like a rocket into this world.

She has grown up to be such a beautiful, talkative, curious little girl. Having our sweet Jane was the best decision we ever made.

Since Jane was born on Halloween we have had twice the festivities this year!
For our ward "Trunk-or-Treat" we dressed up as Lucille Bluth, a Loose Seal, and Buster Bluth.
Lucille, Loose Seal, & Buster at Ward Trunk or Treat
Scott's med school put on a trick-or-treat for the kids of employees/doctors/students. It was awesome! The offices were decorated and Janie loved collecting candy. I tried to teach her to say "trick-or-treat" but she would only get either "trick" or "or-treat" at home. But apparently it stuck because when we came to the first office she looked right at the person holding candy and said, "Weet-oh-Weet!" And her proud parents melted.

Checking out her loot. We tried to hide it about a dozen times and she just keeps finding it. She chose almost entirely M&M's and Goldfish.
Surveying her loot
Checking out her birthday card from Grandpa & Jenna.

Now on to her actual birthday...
Breakfast consisted of raspberries, bananas, and pancakes (all favorites).

We had a party for Jane's Birthday/Halloween and invited the neighbors.

It was a smashing success. Jane wanted nothing to do with the adults and spent her night romping around with the kids. She had a blast.

Today, however, she is feeling the after effects, sadly. We had pudding because she didn't like the cake and she only ate a couple of bites, but apparently that was enough milk to upset her little body. Poor thing. I felt bad enough that we are spending our day slathering her in desitin and watching "Despicable Me". Jane thought this might be my best idea yet.

mmm...Wednesdays

Sorry for being gone... My blog is apparently too full of pictures so I had to figure out how to get around that, which took a while. For those wondering— I am now uploading through photobucket and it's not as convenient (yet) as blogger, but it does the job.

Wednesday was magical. Scott managed to get off work really early (only an eight hour day— this is something to celebrate), the weather was amazing, and Janie was hilarious. All of these things add up to success.

Plus we ran into neighbors. Which, when you have neighbors as awesome as ours are, makes for a good night.
I sure love having these two cute girls right downstairs. It doesn't hurt that Jane is obsessed with Elise. I'm not so sure Elise feels the same way, but she does a great job tolerating the baby anyhow.

We ate noodles outside. We now have to feed Janie on the go, she won't hold still long enough to eat.

I thought it was a great idea to take pictures of Jane in the leaves, considering I hadn't yet and the leaves were already dying.

Except Jane thought that chasing her friends was a better idea. The only time she held still was when I was a million miles away.

The rest of my photos look like this. Yes, she bear crawls in dresses. What a lady.

Once it started getting dark (and after Jane cut her lip open... again...) we went inside to make some fistula cupcakes for Scott's creative project. I am obviously very skilled at making hands out of frosting. I'm sure the medical professionals Scott gave these to were impressed.

Meanwhile in the pantry...
Janie spent her night emptying everything from the pantry into a pile so that she could use it a a step stool to climb higher into the pantry...

I was grateful that she was unsuccessful in her above attempts to open the hot chocolate powder.
Jane has moved from sticking her tongue out in every picture to scrunching her nose. We think she's hilarious.

Playing with Daddy.

The last photo isn't awesome, but it shows how quickly her little teeth are coming in.

Jane vs. Gravy Boat

Once upon a time this cute little climber (seen here waiting for her daddy to come home)
decided to pick a fight with our gravy boat.
It's hard to say who won...
But we sure were glad Dr. Daddy was home to get her all patched up.
She somehow managed to get a bazillion cuts on her hand in the split second smash. Poor girl. It was her first real "owie", but after getting Daddy snuggles, a binky, bottle, AND Curious George... she just might smash things more often.

Butterbeer

Once upon a time we decided to make butterbeer from this recipe.
Scott and I thought it was pretty nasty.
It was kind of like marshmallow soda. We decided if you like creme soda normally than it would probably be pretty tasty...
But we had lots of fun drinking it and playing Harry Potter Scene It with our friends anyway.

In other news:
Janie is all of the place and even took a few steps *gasp* the other day! Maybe she will walk at some point after all. She is also skinny-ing out. It's awfully cute to see her little girl face, but I miss the chub as well.
Princess Jane ascends her throne.
Jane thinks this is how to smile.
