Peacock Farm

While in California we spent a day in San Diego. My sister-in-law Megan took some me to a wonderful park where dozens of peacocks live! I was baffled. It was amazing.

— EDIT: For those wondering, the park is called Leo Carrillo Historic Park in Carlsbad, CA
My cute niece, Chloe with "Princess Peacock"
Check out the albino peacock!

I have included a special treat. Apparently we visited during mating season. This peacock was going around to various girls, showing off his feathers and then proceeding to shake his tail feathers at them. This one was obviously wooed and returned the favor. Your life just isn't complete until you've seen peacocks shake their tail feathers at each other. True love.

Randy's Donuts

Anyone who knows Scott's dad knows that Rick loves donuts. So while we were in California for Spring Break we visited the famous Randy's Donuts! Yes, the one from Iron Man 2, because we are that cool.
Excuse my I-was-sleeping-in-the-car-with-wet-hair hair. It's all the rage in the big city.

Milwaukee Birthday

The night before we left for California, our good friends the Gessels and the Duncans came over for dinner. They surprised me with a birthday cake and a birthday gift! It was fantastic. Apparently Scott and them were in cahoots, but I had no idea. It was perfect :)
PS. Scott was there, too. He was taking the picture.

The Tale of the Towel

I am taking a class right now that requires me to develop film in a dark room. While in that dark room, I have a towel that I can wipe my fingers, equipment, etc off with. Since the towel has developer and fixer on it I can't wash it with normal things, it has to be washed on it's own. When you have to pay for laundry this means that it costs us 2.25 to wash a single towel each week. Scott did not approve of this. He told me that I should just air dry it and save 1.00 on the overall cost. The towel was not thrilled.

I thought I was soooo funny. I'm pretty sure Scott was more entertained by me laughing than by the actual note.
