Frenemies

Remember growing up when you thought someone was your best friend and then you find out they secretly don't like you?

I'm pretty sure that happened to me today.
My dear neighbors... say it ain't so!
Okay, actually we are best friends. But apparently today they weren't so happy I was taking pictures.

And the one on the right happens to be one of Janie's BFF's. Meet Chloe.
I know this has nothing to do with the post, but Janie's Grandma Beth made our little girl this phenomenal throne before she was born. It is one of Jane's FAVORITE things.

Wrist Pains Called De Quervain's

So a few months ago my right wrist started hurting. Like really bad. Anyhow... I put off going to the doctor because I knew I would have to establish care and I'm lazy. So I put up with this terrible pain for months.
I finally cave and go to the doctor (because I had about a gazillion other things to get checked by then— you know how it is). My doctor (who is amazing, by the way) tells me I have De Quervain's Syndrome. She said as soon as she saw that I was coming in for wrist pain she laughed and knew I had it... my physical showed she was correct. Apparently it's really common in new mom's because you are lifting your baby over and over. Who knew? Also why had I never heard of this before? I live in NewMomville (well... that's probably Provo, but our ward has lots as well).
Well apparently I need to go get a steroid shot to relieve the pain for a couple of months. Hopefully this will buy me enough time for Jane to learn to walk and I won't be picking her up all day long. So I called the Hand Clinic that is supposed to be giving me this magic shot and they tell me they have no openings for TWO MONTHS. yeah... awesome. Remember how I have this incredible pain in my wrist that wakes me up at night? yeah. just checking.
So if anyone out there has connections with the Tosa Hand Clinic... please pull some strings and get me an appointment. there are baked goods in it for you. and I make REALLY good baked goods. In other news... Janie is still adorable.

What I do all day

I ran across this the other day... and I was grateful that my dear husband doesn't ask what I did all day when he gets home. The last week our house has been a total disaster. During Janie's first nap I have started doing my BYU classes rather than cleaning like I normally do. Of course now Janie only takes one nap so our house has been hit hard. I have tried to do my school work while Jane is awake and it just doesn't work out. It seems silly to shirk my responsibilities as a parent to do a class on parenting... Anyhow. Here are some of Janie's latest habits: Every morning while I get ready she makes faces at me through her pack'n'play.
It is amazing. I can hardly stop laughing long enough to get ready.

This is her "I'm so funny, right?" face.
I have learned the up-side to Janie's unfeigning love for shoes. When given her own shoes she can play with them for hours.
Lately we try to pull ourselves up on EVERYTHING.
Sadly she still gets pretty hung up on the technicalities of it so it takes her a very long time to get 75% of the way where she proceeds to get stuck because she is too tired to finish and she has forgotten how to get down.
Cue this face and "Nananana!" (because somehow her "Mama" has twisted into "Nana"—she always means me, but she has gotten lazy about her M's)
We are ALWAYS moving. Usually with this face.
*stop to admire the curls*
Another favorite activity is emptying out the bookshelf... I had no idea this started so young.
Life is SO SO good. I love seeing how curious and adventurous my little girl has become. It makes it hard to get anything done, but I am loving [almost] every second. Almost because it also means she is bonking her head on things a lot and it hurts me to see her hurt.

Newbie and Oldies

Apparently I took too long doing dishes yesterday...
[Not sure why her hair dried so straight, but it sure looks weird not curly to me]

And some oldies that apparently never got posted:
Janie found a new toy.

Helping Mama pack for Guam
Once upon a time Coke went on sale. Of course I bought a gazillion, numbered them, and then hid them all around the house so that Scott could have a Coke Hunt when he got home.
Here is his Coke Army.
Janie approved.

Weekly Goodies

Janie was adorable on her first 4th of July. Sadly her Daddy had to work from 6am to 9pm so we didn't get to see him and he couldn't help hold her so I could take cute pictures. Hence Janie dancing during her shot. But you get the point...
It's important to note that Janie is moving her ankles. My perfect daughter does not have cankles. Thought I would clear that up for posterity's sake.
The Heintz's visited! It was WONDERFUL to see them. Janie just soaked up all of the attention.
Janie was calling me from her room the other day and I walked in and found this:
Silly girl.
She can successfully pull her self up on a handful of things now. Her favorites are her crib and changing table.

I found a way to get Jane to eat her veggies... I tell you, that girl loves straws.
and finally! The most anticipated photo of them all: teeth.

Guam Part II

This is a caribou (pronounced Care-ih-bow, not care-ih-boo)

We took turns and I almost peed my pants/caribou.
I'm pretty sure Janie would have stayed with her Grandma and Grandpa if we had let her.

Yemers!
no... Janie was not about to punch someone in the face.
I rode on my Dad's motorcycle. I am sooo hardcore.

Guam Part I

Without further ado, the long anticipated Guam post:
The Fish Eye is basically an aquarium except instead of tanks they just put you in the middle of the ocean. It was awesome, no one else was there and we could just check out the fish and the kids could run wild without anyone telling us not to.

Janie thought the fish were pretty cool.

You can always tell when it is going to rain...
soo lush and  green.

Kaylee and I matched...

Katie is obviously pregnant with TWO babies.
