Saying Farewell to Jane's Friday Buddy

For the last year Jane has been blessed to have her buddy, Avery, come and play every Friday. It is always the highlight of Jane's week and the look on her face every week when Avery arrives is priceless. Sadly Avery and her family are moving to Utah and we are going to miss them SO MUCH! I have loved having Carina (Avery's mom) around for walks and playdates and the girls are total besties.

Spoiled by Grandma

While Grandma was in town Janie was treated to the full Grandma Janet treatment. We went to the zoo and Jane got to ride the carousel (of course she chose the Zebra):

 Jane loved it. Immediately after the carousel ended she turned to Grandma and said, "More? Again! Please?" And because Grandma is a sucker for Jane (as we all are) of course Grandma said yes. This time I got to go with Jane.









 The carousel took a really long time to get started the second time and Jane started getting impatient. So impatient she switched animals to see if maybe the bear was more active than the horse. It wasn't.


















 But eventually the carousel DID go and Jane loved it once again. 
Jane even got to pick out a new toy from the gift shop. She chose the giraffe (who never sleeps by the way. Most of Jane's animals go to take naps with her but before she will go to her room to sleep she makes sure that giraffe is not only in the living room but is standing with her toys because giraffe doesn't sleep, he "plays").
 

Jane also got some fruit snacks...
 

 and some new clothes. However, Jane is a skinny mini and while the shirt from this outfit fit great, the skirt was falling off of her. She was trying to run and accidentally got her skirt stuck in the door. She started yelling "stuck! stuck!" from the bathroom and when by the time I got to her the skirt had fallen completely off and was by her ankles. She managed to wiggle it out of the door but felt very betrayed that her skirt wouldn't stay on.
 

 I asked her if she wanted her skirt back on and she told me, "no. socks." I tried to convince her again of the skirt, but she insisted that she needed to wear socks instead. Makes sense.
 
 Jane loved the delicious bread Janet baked (which had sunflower seeds in it). She somehow ended up with two loose seeds on her face and they stayed the entire meal.
 
 and then she found a pen and who knows what her thought process was.
 
 Jane also apparently really likes salad. (how is that for disconnect? blogger is giving me grief so I'm not even going to fix it)
   

Anyhow, we had a wonderful time with Janet here and Jane screamed out a bloodcurdling "GRANDMA!" when she realized she wasn't getting back in the car at the airport. It was incredibly sad but she seemed consoled when I assured her that Grandma would be back in six weeks when baby sister came and that before she saw Grandma Janet again TWO other grandmas would visit her.

Speaking of which, YES Jane will see ALL of her grandmas soon. My mom recently moved to Indianapolis which is only 4-5 hours away and will hopefully be coming to see Jane in the next couple of weeks and Grandma Imy moves to Chicago TODAY. Lucky little Jane.  

Father's Day

We were excited to celebrate Jane's Daddy on Father's Day this year.
Scott truly is an incredible father. I adore him, Jane adores him, Peanut isn't sure what to make of him ;)

We decided to hike around Grant Park to celebrate.

The park is right on Lake Michigan and the water looked gorgeous (don't be fooled, the beach was closed because of E Coli...)

Partway through our hike Jane decided to lead us on her own trail, which involved a lot of Peek-A-Boo around trees.

Have I mentioned how much I loved Wisconsin summers and how green it gets here?

and a completely off topic picture: Jane is now the proud owner of light up high heels. She thinks they are amazing and glamorous and we frequently hear her click-clacking around the apartment (sorry, pughs!)

Homecoming & Bre'r Rabbit

As much as I enjoyed traveling sans toddler, I couldn't wait to get back to these two:

Jane had a blast with her Daddy while I was gone and Grandma Janet spoiled her rotten. She hardly noticed I was gone until the day I came home (which was exactly what I had hoped).

Saturday night we were in need of an adventure so I convinced Scott, Janet, and Jane to trek down to Chicago with me. One of my good friends from high school was playing with her band and I couldn't resist going down to see them.

Jane was kind and let us push her WAY past her bed time. The show didn't start until 7:30 and she is normally in bed by 7pm...

She was such a trooper, she completely LOVED the show. She insisted on dancing the entire time and we could hardly peel her away from the stage.

MIRANDA! I hadn't seen Miranda in forever and it was so surreal to introduce her to my little family.

Jane loved having so much time with her Grandma.

Scott was excited there was such tasty food at the gig.

Jane discovered this horse and fell in love. I guess she has a little cowgirl in her after all.

The show was awesome, Bre'r Rabbit is insanely talented.
