Holy Canole! It's been forever. Sorry, we've been off enjoying our Summer. Scott has now started his 3rd Year of Medical School and I am beginning to think I will never see him again...
What you missed:
-We went to Guam! (More pictures to come)
Blake & Hailey came!
Two of my Young Women graduated, which is awesome because they are growing up and are off to new adventures, but is very sad because I will MISS them.
JANIE TALKS!
First Word: "Dada" at 7 1/2 months (yes. she actually uses it properly)
Second Word: "Mama" at 8 months
Janie is mobile-- which means I have a heart attack every three seconds because she isn't where I left her and I'm sure someone has taken her... only to realize she is off to make her own mischief. This also leads me to the title of this post. Janie uses sonar to make sure she is scooting in the right direction. Periodically while she is scooting she forgets where I went and she just yells until I poke my head around the corner. After she sees me she looks pleased and continues toward me.
--her biggest scooting motivations are electronics, Coke (just like Daddy),
and shoes (just like Mama)
Janie also has started repeating things. It's nuts. I'm pretty sure she's some kind of genius. This morning she was singing and I actually figured out what she was singing. Freaky, right? She was singing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star", which makes sense because her zebra plays this song for her ALL THE TIME. But it still freaked me out.
I started singing the ABC's (very slowly) for her (since it's the same tune and all) and she repeated several of the letters! "D" is the only one she did consistently, because of course I freaked out and sang it over and over after that. But I also heard A, B, J, and M. Then before changing her diaper and I said, "Can I change your diap?" and she said "diap."
Genius I tell you! GENIUS.
We are weaning Jane off of her binky. I know it's early, but she is already really attached to it and I know the longer we wait the harder it will be to separate her from it. So it's only for sleeping now and she has taken to it like a champ. When I pick her up from her nap she pulls it out and we leave it in her crib. Perfect. She now doesn't have too much of an interest in binkies when she isn't sleeping, she just sort of plays with them. Plus, I now have something to help her know it's time to nap (which has always been an issue) and now she naps like an angel for the first time in her life.
[I know this picture is blurry but I had to document how we found her mid-nap the other day]
Jane has TWO TEETH. They broke through while we were in Guam. Aunt Katie had been calling her "Grandpa Gums" all trip and I guess it got to her.
This picture shows her Grandpa Gums before her teeth. I don't have any shots of her teeth just yet, she is very protective of them.
Jane FINALLY fits into her Easter dress! haha... it only took her until July.
yay! i've been waiting and waiting for more pictures :) im pleased and excited for some guam pictures now. jane is getting so big and increasingly beautiful, just thought i would let you know.
