Weekly Goodies

Pity smile.
Teeth!
The apple addiction continues:

The other night Janie thought the curtain was attacking her... I couldn't stop laughing quickly rescued my poor confused little girl.
Janie loves being messy so she has taken to hiding when she thinks I might wipe her face (note she took her apple with her).
Pumpkin bread for breakfast.
Pigtails!
Janie learned to open up her snacks by herself... this means she has gotten a TON more independent.
We frequently have pizza playdates with Mel and Sadie, they're basically the greatest. Do you like how we coordinated with our kids?

Jane LOVES bananas still. It's kind of become an obsession. The other day I came home with the groceries and she went from bag to bag until she found her beloved bananas. She then proceeded to enter freak out mode until the banana was in her mouth. But I thought the sticker was appropriate.
Now that Jane can reach the table she will feel along the edge until she finds what she wants. She can't see over, hence why she is Helen Keller-ing it on the right.

Once Jane learned how to open her snack container by herself she started getting really independent. At first it was just with snacks, but it soon carried over to play time. She now is very good at playing by herself (at least for the last three days). I am counting my blessings, this has been a real struggle for her, she needed her mama by her side to do anything for a very long time. I have been trying to help her learn how to play on her own** and I think it has finally paid off.

**For those wondering... I would usually start off playing with her and slowly scoot her off my lap (she liked to be touching) once she was distracted and not touching me I would sneak out of the room/out of sight. It also took a lot of self control to not check on her if she was quiet. Of course sometimes I would glance in for safety concerns, but I would try to be very discrete. In the beginning she knew the moment I left, but over time she would be able to play on her own for longer and longer. I also started having sections of the kitchen that she could play with on her own while I cooked/cleaned in the kitchen so that she knew she didn't need to be on my hip the whole time.
