So on Labor Day we moved to Chicago to live in Dad's basement. It was a really great month. His house was perfect, we loved spending time with Dad, Imy, and Yemers, the weather was amazing, and the town they live in is adorable. We are so grateful they let us stay with them, even though we added all sorts of crazy to their house.
Jane ADORED living with Grandpa, Grandma, Yemers, and probably most of all, Sparky, their long-haired chihuahua.
The first time Jane ever told me about something was this walk pictured below. When she came back inside she excitedly told me, "Grandpa! Walk! Sticks!"

Penny loved being with Grandpa, too. But she chose different activities.

Scott's study station in the basement.

Jane loves her Grandma Imy.

I don't think Penny knew we weren't home except that she was held waaay more than I could have done on my own. She loved it. At her appointment her doctor kept saying how round and gorgeous her head was. Yup. She was never set down :)

"Walking" Sparky.

Our little smiler.

So I laid Penny on the floor for a minute so I could run to the restroom. She immediately decided it was unacceptable and started crying loudly. Jane tried to find me to inform me that Penny was sad and when she couldn't find me she decided the best alternative was to lay right next to Penny and cry loudly as well. It was pretty priceless. Fun fact: When Penny cries Janes favorite thing to do is mimic her. She tries very hard to get the cries just right and it's pretty interesting to listen to.

Every Thursday we went to the Libertyville Farmers Market. Imy bought Jane the most intense balloon animal I have ever seen, it was awesome! Hula Monkey.

Decorating the giant panda (with wipes, of course).

Scott's dad bought Jane this hat and Jane is obsessed. It's adorable.

Aunt Kathy came to visit and took Jane on the carousel to her heart's content. Both were in heaven.

Penny is such a sweetheart. We really love her.

Loving on grandpa.

So Jane spent a lot of time with Sparky last month and decided she is a dog. She would bark when people came to the door, crawl on her hands and knees, growl, and carry everything in her mouth. Some of these we were more amused with than others. The carrying everything in her mouth part was probably the hardest to deal with. Especially when it was dog toys. Or boots (they all have teeth marks now, not to mention the germs). Or our favorite, electronics.

Balls.

She did eat pretty well while we were in Chicago. She thought Grandma Imy's food was awesome (as did Scott and I). One night she even ate all of her chicken, my chicken, and then Imy's chicken. She approved.

Getting pretty with Grandma.

The love of Jane's life. You should have heard her scream when he showed up at our door the other day. Apparently two weeks apart was really terrible. She never stops talking about him.

This is Jane's "entourage". She won't sleep without all of them in their proper spots on her bed.

We love her smiles.

Jane LOVES hats. Whenever Penny cries Jane assumes it's because she isn't wearing a hat. Obviously. So Jane is pretty good at fixing that.

It was so fun to have a backyard. One of Jane's favorite activities was watering the plants/playing with the hose.

and chalk.

and the porch swing.

The farmers market had the best kettle corn I've ever eaten.

My handsome Dad.

Of course Jane just wanted his hat.

Putting boots on the tiger.

Typical evening.

Putting cups on her feet when she couldn't find shoes.

Again... Penny was crying. Clearly she needed a hat.

This picture I originally added as an accident, it's more recent than September, but I left it in because I know Katie will read this and want more updated Penny pictures.

Sarah, you just made my day! I wanted to comment on ALL of the pictures! Your kids are so dang cute. And you are making me REALLY REALLY excited to have everyone together for Thanksgiving. I guess it doesn't help that I dreamed about it last night too.
ReplyDelete1. I love that Jane thought it was a good idea to lay down next to her sister and cry. I'm also very glad that you documented that moment. Pretty priceless.
2. Janie's outfit with the purple hat is AWESOME.
3. I love Penny's perfect round face and cannot wait to snuggle her.
4. I love the look of pure joy when Janie is spraying the hose and the look of mischief when she is aiming it at the camera. I sure hope that she didn't end up spraying the camera.
5. We all REALLY NEED TO LIVE CLOSER! I am dying. Especially seeing Dad and Imy playing with your girls. It just seems like that is how life should be always.
6. Thank you for adding that last picture just for me. It made me feel special. She really is such a doll and can't get enough of her.
