Dear Katie, remember when we visited?

My mother is going to hate this, but I was terrible at taking photos while in Utah. Jane NEVER left my side. She would only sleep when I slept, which means that she got 9 hours of sleep instead of the normal 14. Awesome. Also Jane's reaction to sleep deprivation is hyperactivity. Just ask people who saw her during the trip. We tried to skype with Crystal and she literally just saw a blur on the bottom of the screen the whole conversation. That was Jane running back and forth. Yeah... her pregnant mama was pretty darn exhausted and taking pictures was not as high on my priority list as staying sane and keeping Jane safe/fed.

We got to see lots of family, which was wonderful. I hate being so far away from everyone.

When I say Jane would only sleep when I slept I mean it. In fact, she would only sleep directly on top of my face.

She makes it look cuter than it feels. It feels a lot more like damp suffocation.

When she wasn't directly on top of my face she was snuggling her baby sister (who would stay up to kick her sister, so sweet).

The visit, however, was a huge success. We spent lots of time with Katie and Jason and managed plenty of snuggle time with the boys. Jane was an awesome little helper with the boys and quickly became very distraught whenever they fussed.

Jane helped her Aunt Katie bath the boys.

I left my cafe rio unattended. Big mistake. Jane quickly took over and devoured THE REST of my salad. Notice both her fork and my fork hard at work shoveling food into her tiny mouth. Good call, Janie.

We tried to get a picture of Jane with the boys. Actually we tried several times. Most of them look like this:

Bonus points if you can find the angry toddler, concerned infants, and parent involvement.

The rest of the pictures of all of them looked like this:

It turns out toddler are AWESOME at posing for pictures.

haha. no.

anyhow, we did manage this:

That little gem was a miracle. I know no one is smiling, but no one is crying, so we're calling it a success.

Mostly Jane just wanted to be thrown into the Love Sac.

The boys, however, were tiny angels. So stinking adorable.

Jane was always eager to help the boys with whatever they needed. Which 90% of the time Jane thought was binkies.

But sometimes between a toddler's poor aim and a wiggling infant, the binky just doesn't make it in the mouth. Close enough, right? Jane was quite proud.

Any time the boys fussed Jane would run off and take care of them. While I was eating lunch she disappeared and I found her giving Bennett his bottle. Shortly after this the bottle ran out and she ran straight to Katie's room to her breast pump for a refill. Sweet girl. She is going to be a champion big sister. Her only trouble will be the confusion of why she only has one baby.

In other news, Jane really likes playing in oatmeal.

  1. Yay, yay, yay! My dream came true! (Literally.) I'm so glad you posted. I looked on your blog probably a million times today just waiting for this update. Also, the boys took a 3.5 hour nap so I was bored. (I finally woke them up because I wanted to play. I'm an awesome mom, I know.) haha. I love you sister! I miss you like crazy already. Thank you so much for visiting!! P.S. I think you forgot your Wisconsin weather over here. I woke up to snow yesterday...
