Our Angel of a Baby

There are no words to express how awesome Jane is. We are so incredibly blessed to have her in our life.

Jane likes to remind us of how awesome she is. Here are some of the reasons she has given us:

—[Prepare to be totally jealous*]—

1. Jane is not a crier. She will fuss every once in a while (for probably a total of 10 minutes a day), but as soon as she has what she wants she is happy. Whether it's a diaper change, food, a blanket and space to wiggle, a binky, dad, or mom, she will calm very easily once we figure out what she wants. If all else fails (which has only happened a couple of times) I put on the moby wrap and she calms down within a minute.

2. Jane sleeps through the night. Not kidding. Since she was 5 weeks old she has slept at least 8 hours in a row each night. The only times she didn't were three days in a row when she was congested because of a cold. Currently she sleeps from about 10pm-8am

3. Jane loves to snuggle. I eat this up and have a hard time doing anything all day.

4. She is an awesome eater. She eats 4 oz every 3 hours and is good about spitting the bottle out if she finishes early.

5. She is a champ at holding up her head (she can even sit in her boppy comfortably now!)

6. Jane loves her mama. I especially love this.

My favorite time of the day is when she first wakes up in the morning. She will make some noises to see if anyone is around and when I stand by her bassinet so she can see me she breaks into the biggest, greatest gummy smile. She will then just sit and smile and coo for several minutes.

She also had her two month appointment this week. Jane's stats:

Height: 22.5" (50th percentile)

Weight: 10lbs 8 oz (25th percentile)

Head Circumference: can't remember but it was in the 75th percentile— which is a relief because at her one week appointment they measured it wrong and it showed up at the 5th percentile and completely panicked me.

*but not too jealous, because you and I both know that our next child will make up for her angelic nature.

Oh baby Jane. We love you more than words can say.
